図かされる部分が木に覆われているか、空中写真の縮尺が1:20,000のように小さいなら、等高線間隔2.5mでの作図は不可能である。
見積料金は4km平方なら600ポンド（1km平方あたり150ポンド）

The plotting machine uses standard 230 x 230mm contact paper prints
or film diapositives. We prefer film diapositives as the image in
the machine is sharper.
We also need a large scale map for measuing scale and reading heights.
1:25000 may be OK if there are enough spot heights for setting up the photos.
The choice of photo scale is a balance between the amount of detail
you can see and the number of stereo pairs needed to cover the area required.
The cost depends on the number of stereo pairs to be set up and the size
of area to be plotted.
The best photo scale for orienteering work is between 1:12000 and 1:15000.
We have used scales from 1:5000 to 1:30000 in the past. The problem
with large scales is the number of stereo pairs; with small scales, the
amount of detail visible.
Remember that if the area is forested we cannot see through the trees.
In this situation contours are estimated from the tree canopy and clearings.
2.5m contours can be very good if the ground is visible and the photo scale
is suitable (ideal 1:12000). If there is tree cover and/or the photo
scale is smaller (1:20000) it may be impossible to try and plot contours
at 2.5m.
I would estimate the cost for a base map of an area around 4 sq km is
probably around £600 (£150/sq km). This would be confirmed on receipt
of photos and a large scale map.
